This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected by Tilt Your Life Pty Ltd (we, us or our) via the website located at www.tiltyourlife.com (Website) and the Tilt Your Life app (App).
What information we collect
The kind of Personal Information we collect depends on how you interact with our Website, App, and services. We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to fulfil our functions and activities. The categories of personal information that Tilt Your Life collects are set out below.

This app is designed to support general wellbeing and is not intended to provide medical, psychological, or diagnostic services.
We use personal information to provide, maintain, and improve our services.

No individual will be identifiable from this information.
These uses form part of the operation and improvement of our services and do not require separate research consent.
d. Optional research use
With your explicit consent, we may use de-identified data for future research purposes aimed at improving understanding of wellbeing and related outcomes.
This consent is obtained separately within the App (through an optional “Help improve wellbeing research” opt-in).
Any such research will only be conducted following appropriate ethical approvals, where required.
This may include:

- (ii)Academic publications
- (iii)Collaborations with research institutions or partners
Participation in research is voluntary and separate from your use of the App. Choosing not to participate will not affect your access to features or services.
We will not use your data for research purposes unless you have actively opted in.
You may withdraw your consent for research participation at any time within the App.
Where required by ethical guidelines, we may seek additional consent before including your data in specific research studies.
Before data is used for research, identifying information is removed or transformed so that individuals cannot reasonably be identified.
Research findings will be reported only in aggregated form and will not identify individual users.

Types of information
The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) defines types of information, including Personal Information and Sensitive Information.
Personal Information means information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:
- (a)whether the information or opinion is true or not; and
- (b)whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.
If the information does not disclose your identity or enable your identity to be ascertained, it will in most cases not be classified as “Personal Information” and will not be subject to this privacy policy.
Sensitive Information is defined in the Privacy Act as including information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.
Sensitive Information will be used by us only:
- (a)for the primary purpose for which it was obtained;
- (b)for a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose; and
- (c)with your consent or where required or authorised by law.
How we collect your Personal Information
(a)We may collect Personal Information from you whenever you input such information into the Website, related app or provide it to Us in any other way.
(b)We may also collect cookies from your computer which enable us to tell when you use the Website and also to help customise your Website experience. As a general rule, however, it is not possible to identify you personally from our use of cookies.
(c)We will obtain your explicit consent before collecting non-essential cookies, distinguishing between essential cookies (required for Website functionality) and non-essential cookies (used for analytics, marketing, or personalisation purposes), and you may withdraw your consent at any time through our cookie management settings.
(d)We collect Sensitive Information, including health-related information about your wellbeing (such as wellbeing assessment scores and self-reported mood data), with your explicit consent as described in this policy.
(e)Where reasonable and practicable we collect your Personal Information from you only. However, sometimes we may be given information from a third party, in cases like this we will take steps to make you aware of the information that was provided by a third party.
(f)We maintain a register of third-party service providers who may access your Personal Information (including analytics providers, payment processors, and hosting services). We require all such providers to execute Data Processing Agreements committing to handle your Personal Information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. You may request a current list of these service providers by contacting Us.
Purpose of collection
(a)We collect Personal Information to provide you with the best service experience possible on the Website and App, and to keep in touch with you about developments in our business.
(b)We customarily only disclose Personal Information to our service providers who assist us in operating the Website. Your Personal Information may also be exposed from time to time to maintenance and support personnel acting in the normal course of their duties.
(c)By using our Website or App, you consent to the receipt of direct marketing material. We will only use your Personal Information for this purpose if we have collected such information direct from you, and if it is material of a type which you would reasonably expect to receive from use. We do not use sensitive Personal Information in direct marketing activity. Our direct marketing material will include a simple means by which you can request not to receive further communications of this nature, such as an unsubscribe button link.
Security, Access and correction
(a)We store your Personal Information in a way that reasonably protects it from unauthorised access, misuse, modification or disclosure by adopting recommended security measures, including multi-factor authentication (MFA)/2FA. When we no longer require your Personal Information for the purpose for which we obtained in, we will take reasonable steps to destroy and anonymise or de-identify it. Most of the Personal Information that is stored in our client files and records will be kept for a maximum of 7 years to fulfill our record keeping obligations.
(b)The Australian Privacy Principles:
- (i)permit you to obtain access to the Personal Information we hold about you in certain circumstances (Australian Privacy Principle 12); and
- (ii)allow you to correct inaccurate Personal Information subject to certain exceptions (Australian Privacy Principle 13).
(c)Where you would like to obtain such access, please contact us in writing on the contact details set out at the bottom of this privacy policy.
(d)We maintain documented retention schedules for different categories of Personal Information: transaction and financial records for 7 years (to comply with taxation and corporate record-keeping obligations), employment records for 7 years, marketing preferences for 2 years, website analytics data for 1 year, and app data containing identifiable Personal Information (name, contact details) will be retained for the duration of the active account, and permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, Personal Information will be securely destroyed using industry-standard deletion methods, with destruction activities documented and verified quarterly by our privacy officer. Deletion of your account will remove your identifiable personal information. De-identified data already included in aggregated analytics or approved research datasets prior to deletion will not be affected, as it can no longer be linked to you.
Complaint procedure
If you have a complaint concerning the manner in which we maintain the privacy of your Personal Information, please contact us as on the contact details set out at the bottom of this policy. All complaints will be considered by Privacy Officer and we may seek further information from you to clarify your concerns. If we agree that your complaint is well founded, we will, in consultation with you, take appropriate steps to rectify the problem. If you remain dissatisfied with the outcome, you may refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Overseas transfer
All user data (including database, file storage, and all backend services) is hosted within Australia. Some of our service providers and their personnel may access your data from overseas locations, including India or other jurisdictions, in the course of providing development and support services.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your Personal Information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. However, you acknowledge that in some circumstance, overseas recipients may not be subject to privacy obligations equivalent to those in Australia, and you consent to those transfers.
GDPR
While our Website, App and services are primarily targeting Australian users, the Website and App are available outside Australia, including in the European Union (EU). If you are located in the EU, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Where these laws apply, we will take reasonable steps to comply with our obligations.

Complaint handling timeframes
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 5 business days and provide a substantive written response within 30 days of receipt. Our response will outline our findings, the reasons for our decision, and any remedial action taken. If you remain dissatisfied with our response, or if we have not resolved your complaint within 30 days, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner by visiting www.oaic.gov.au or calling 1300 363 992.
